MIRANDA’S STORY

Miranda is a small-business e-commerce start-up coach for women. She has a background in product design and marketing. Miranda enjoys her business and loves working with creative and innovative clients.

She sought me out because she wanted to take her business to the next income bracket and was not sure how to make it happen. In exploring different target markets, Miranda was not interested in considering the market of serving “mompreneurs”— women who juggle being both mothers and entrepreneurs. She thought that they would not have time to devote to their business and that they may not be able to pay her fees.

During our work together, Miranda was able to challenge her assumptions and her resistance. It turns out that when she was younger, her mother started her own bakery business but was unable to make it work while also balancing care of three young kids. She also had a lack of funds. This experience had stayed with Miranda.

As Miranda began to shift her mind-set, she realized that the mompreneur industry is both huge and profitable. She also realized that the e-commerce business model is an excellent fit with mompreneurs because it allows them greater flexibility in their lives. In general, as well, these women love to share and to create innovative ways to help other mothers and their children thrive.

Miranda successfully expanded her target audience, reach, and business to include mompreneurs. She is thrilled with the results and loves helping these women turn their creativity into innovative solutions for other parents and families.
